So the weekend has finally arrived and I must admit I’m planning a nice relaxing few days with maybe some trips out with the family. Quiet weekends are the perfect time to do all those things you normally put off: cleaning the bathroom, plucking your eyebrows and learning how to wear liquid eyeliner (maybe that last one is just me..?)
Nothing adds instant glamour the way eyeliner does. I’ve always shied away from heavy liquid-eyeliner styles in favour of more smudgy easy to do styles, but one of my new years resolutions this year was to steady my hand and get brave with eyeliner. After quite a few attempts now, I can confirm that it’s not so difficult once you give it a try! Here are some of my favourite eyeliner styles for inspiration!
My favourite tip from a makeup-artist friend was: remember that you don’t need to do the eyeliner line all in one go! Start by dotting the liquid eyeliner along the line you want and gradually fill to a solid line – you’ll find it much easier!
If you fancy a quick and easy way of having eyecatching eyeliner, you could also try Eye Rock Designer Liner (pictured above) – these are ready made eyeliner transfers from the people who made the nail transfers. If you’ve tried these let me know how you got on!

Wow, that bottom picture is particularly gorgeous! Eyeliner is the one product I wear pretty much every day, but I despaired for years with pencils because they come off far too easily. I find liquid pretty easy to mess up – especially when I do eyeshadow before and then have to start totally from scratch!
it’s definitely an essential for me now! Love this post, it might inspire me to try again with liquid though!
I’ve found an amazing compromise – maybelline eye studio gel liner! It comes with a little brush, it goes on a bit like liquid but smudges more readily for a smokey look! I talk about it in one of my make up blog posts
I might try that – most days I chicken out and just wear pencils. I’m fair haired and fair skinned and black liquid liner is quite a statement look for me (and it shows up very easily when you make a mistake!). I’d love to have naturally dark eyelashes – I’m sure it would make eyeliner much easier!
I have naturally dark lashes. I don’t think it makes eyeliner any easier. However, I did learn recently that eyeliner should go on before mascara but after everything else eye related.
I do use liquid eyeliner or pencil – depends how I am feeling that morning. Although don’t do anything more than a line following the lashes on the top & bottom of the eye.
