Why do I get spots?

I’m normally blessed with pretty good skin, but recently I’ve started getting quite a few spots on my forehead. So it got me thinking: why do we get spots? After a bit of research I discovered that the location of your spots can tell you a lot about why you’re getting them… (for me it looks like a sudden bout of overeating on cheese and chocolate might be the culprit!)

Spots on your forehead

This could be because of having a fringe: while a fringe helps hide a spotty forehead it can also make it worse from hair products and sweat Also they can indicate bad diet high in saturated fat and alcohol – so a bit of a detox could help

Spots on your cheeks

This can be because of too much meat, sugar and dairy products – try replacing with veggies and fruit to see if it makes a difference.

Spots on your chin

Spots on the chin can be hormonal, so if you get them once a month they really could be ‘period spots’ which often occur arround period or ovulation time.

The fix?

Whatever the reason for your spots, the advice remains the same: DON’T SQUEEZE THEM! and use medicated products to treat and conceal.

  1. One easy way of getting spots is to fail to tone and cleanse your skin at night – both to remove any make up or detritus from the day.
If you have changed your skin care routine or products you use on your face, this may be to blame.
    Stress is another spot producer…
